When did you realize you were a quirky black girl?

8th grade. i used to wear dope jean jackets completely painted in tar. esprit.

What does "quirky" mean to you?

pushing the envelope. making choices that seem bold to others, mundane. simplest form: wearing red accessories no matter what the color scheme of the actual outfit your wearing is.

What does "black" mean to you?

all color. the basis. the basic. every. all.
the art of mixing.

What does "girl" mean to you?

What kind of quirky things do you like to do?

see quirky definition above...also i dance kathak (a classical northern east indian dance) to everything...even house music :)

How do you embrace your quirky?

there's no other way but quirky. sometimes i can't be quirky enough. i just do as i feel, knowing its all coming together fashion-wise.

What does your ideal quirky black girl world look like?

a circle, a world where i'm surrounded by other artistic, unique and exceptionally quirky black girls. each has her own style, she is comfortable in it, and we respect. we meet for wine and we meet for tea.
oh yes...and we all live in frank lloyd wright houses :)
