Come celebrate the launch of the inaugural issue of Spelman's literary journal, Aunt Chloe: A Journal of Artful Candor. Toi Derricotte and Cornelius Eady, co-founders of Cave Canem, the premier home for Black poetry, will read and discuss the incept…
When did you realize you were a quirky black girl?
When the fellas began to swarm like crazy. They just couldn't (and still can't) resist my wacky charm.
What kind of quirky things do you like to do?
I like to dance whenever there's music; I like to sing to that music holding an imaginary microphone in my fist; I like to pretend I'm Stephen T. Colbert; I like to be witty, at all costs; I like to surprise, and be surprised.
How do you embrace your quirky?
It embraces me.
What does your ideal quirky black girl world look like?
Natural hair, everywhere. Everybody wearing colors. Black girls who dress organically, to impress ourselves, not our men.
How did you hear about QBG?
a:1:{i:0;s:32:"a fellow QBG who is already here";}
