Quirky Black Girls

Embrace the Quirky!

I never really thought about it. How the meat that you consume ends up on your plate. I have been vegetarian for about 14yrs. The only dairy that I have consumed is cheese. Recently I went to a womens conferrence and met Dr. Baruch who has appeared on the Micheal Basiden show. The way that he discussed how the meat was prepared( or I should say treated) before it comes to your plate really struck a nerve. How what we eat really effects your body. Showing us that our bodies are not designed to digest meat.

We are also not designed to digest dairy either. After learning what I learned!! I will not consume my cheese any more!! I am not doing this just for my health but also for the animals as well. It is amazing to see how much healthier the body is when the right foods are introduced.

Check out.. http://drbaruch.com it is an eye opener!!!

Hey, Z. Thanks for the error catch. The last time you tried what was it for you that made it so unhealthy? I know that if you load your veggies with heavy oils, butter and things of the like it can very well be unhealthy. I wish you much success as you journey back to the way you were designed to eat. All my best..

Peace, Light, and blessings..

This is just the reinforcement I need! I have been a vegan (yet again) for a year now. I say 'yet again' because when the movie 'Babe' came out--and yes I'm being totally serious--I stopped eating pork products. My family and friends where quick to point out the hypocrisy so I stopped eating all forms of meat and despite being the only vegan in a house full of carnivores, I was going strong for a while until college. But, I'm more adamant than ever to continue with it this time!

I understand you completely. I am the only vegan in my house as well. My oldest claims to be a vegetarian, but she still eats chicken and fish. I don't call that being a vegetarian, but hey to each his own. Pork was the first thing that I gave up to. I was never really a pork eater. A movie took that all away for me as well. (Malcom X) in the jail yard scene when bro baines started talking about the pig. I am like YUCK!! Other circumstances happen that took away the rest of the meat and I just recently gave up the only dairy that I was really comsuming. Ice cream and cheese.

ohhh i like the idea of being vegan in my house. sometimes fellow vegan/vegetarians can be a little snobby about their food choices when in public.

For the most part, i try to pick meat out if someone inadvertently puts it on my plate and try not to make a big deal about it.
