We are finally gearing up for pre-production on PARIAH the feature film!! I’m reaching out to share an opportunity with you – we are now recruiting for local NYC background actors. Please take a look at the details (dates, etc.) at the bottom of this email and if you’re interested or know someone who is, please email us a headshot (recent photo) and resume to:

The deadline for submissions is Wed, Jul 29th.
Please note that this is for NON UNION actors only and you must live in NY or the surrounding tri-state area (NJ/Connecticut) to be eligible for a position.

CASTING CALL:
The award-winning short, PARIAH, is becoming a feature & needs background actors!
PARIAH is a coming-of-age drama about a black lesbian teenager who juggles multiple identities to avoid rejection from her friends and family. The short screened at Sundance 2008 and won over 25 best short awards to include:
Urbanworld VIBE | Pan African | NewFest | OUTfest
The feature is a finalist for the Netflix FIND Your Voice Competition. You can check out the new trailer at: http://www.netflixfindyourvoice.com/index.php
PRODUCTION DETAILS
Format: 35MM
Dates: Various, August 12-September 4th
Locations: Various, Brooklyn/Manhattan
BACKGROUND ACTOR DETAILS – NON UNION
Background actors needed for:
• School scene
• Nightclub scene
• The Christopher Street Piers Scene
• Commercial Bus Station Scene
All background actors need to be prepared for:
• Working up to 10 consecutive hours per day
• Providing their own wardrobe under the guidance of the casting director
• Significant down time
Background actors will receive:
• Beverages & snacks (those that work for over 6 hours will be provided a meal)
• Stipend
• Production credit
